On Saturday, qualifier Magda Linette prevailed over Camila Giorgi, 5-7, 7-5, 6-4, to capture the inaugural NYJTL Bronx Open. After failing to seal the deal in the second set, Giorgi broke in the first game of the deciding third set to surge ahead. Down 4-3, Linette found an opening in the eighth game, winning the next three to close out the match in three well-fought sets.
